Technique to generate new affiliate leads (or to generate sales leads)

One of the most time consuming tasks in affiliate management is generating new affiliate leads – or for that matter sales leads.

If the leads for your business can be generated with online research using a search engine, such as Google then here is a technique that may be suitable.

The task of searching out potential leads can be outsourced to offshore workers at relatively low cost. Suitably qualified workers in the Far East can be sourced from sites such as ODesk.com. Look for someone who is prepared to do the research online to locate potential leads and then make the initial contact by email on you behalf.

Brief the worker with keywords etc to enable them to seek out suitable leads. Supply them with an email template of the email to be sent. As a result of this activity you can expect to see a stream of new potential affiliates (or clients) making contact with you as a result of the initial email- so you receive warm leads and can spend you time more productively developing these.

Make sure the worker is well briefed, supplies regular activity reports eg a list of sites and emails contacted. As with using any outsourced worker it is a case of finding the right one and keeping them rewarded and motivated.

I would suggest rewarding a worker based on the number of contacts they make (rather than time spent) and provided you receive a report of the contacts made then you can gauge what work has been undertaken. Then by comparing the responses you receive, to the activity undertaken you can measure how successful the activity is.

The key to this is finding the right worker. It is worth testing 2-3 workers on a trial basis and then selecting the best one. And then making sure a rewarding relationship for both parties is developed.
