How to target key prospects. Here is a Facebook advertising trick that you may find useful and not many marketers are aware off.
Say you want to promote your service, product, start-up to a key audience say a celebrity, key journalist, key bloggers or key affiliates in your niche..
So how do you find them and then target messages to attract their interest?
So you could send them emails, but chances they will get ignored amongst all the rest of the emails they no doubt receive on a daily basis.

Or you could approach them via Facebook (assuming they are on Facebook).
The great thing about this hack is that you do not need to be Friends or anything with the prospect in question.
So, first, look them up on Facebook – simply search for them or if you are looking for employees, say a journalist at The New York Times then do a search “Employees of The New York Times”, then go through the list looking for journalists to target. Cool.
Once you find a target(s) then click on to their profile and chances are you are not connected. No worries. Just grab the address in the browser window and tweak it as such
Here is how I show up on Facebook as
https://www.facebook.com/julian.mills3?fref=ts
remove the “ https://www “ and replace it with “ graph “
Then remove everything after the “ ? “
So you get
graph.facebook.com/julian.mills3
Stick this into the browser address bar and you get a pop up with my Facebook ID number 1053903788
Then in your Facebook advertising account, you can then create a custom audience and target bespoke adverts to this single or group of highly targeted prospects. (Note I understand Facebook changed this so the minimum audience is 20 people, the hack if you only want to target one person is to create an audience with 20 people and your target person should be a different sex to the other 19, then in you ad settings just target the male audience only). One of the ways to really catch their attention is to use a picture of themselves if it is appropriate to the situation in hand, otherwise, it can seem a bit weird – like you’re a stalker! See this example of this technique being used as a prank. If you base your bidding on cost per thousand impressions, then if you are targeting one person or a small group then it is going to cost next to nothing. What others are doing is creating and posting hidden bespoke videos solely for the target prospect in question. So it is very targeted and quite a bit of work, but if it is someone you really want to get the attention off and who could make a big difference to your business then it may be worthwhile.
