nigel botterill crms and Keap / infusionsoftNigel Botterill. This is where web forms, you know, really come into play. Because when you when you’ve got a web form on your site, again, don’t forget, we can plug the web forms into response IQ. And we can ring these people straight away as well, which you might want to do in some instances.

But that’s why again, you will need a CRM of some sorts to be able to collect this information and then do something with it and that’s what CRMs are very good at. A CRM is a customer relationship management system.

So it allows you to put in place different campaigns and I remember when I bought my very first CRM system which was called Infusionsoft. And many of you will be aware of Infusionsoft now. I was Infusionsoft’s 11th ever customer. I was at the event in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2004, when Infusionsoft was launched, and the only reason I was 11, is because I was sat right at the back and you had to go to the front of the hall to sign up and 10 Americans got there before me.

I was amazed because it was the first time I’d ever seen a system that could start to send messages to customers and to people based on how long they’ve been with you. So the campaign, they get this message on day one, and this message on day three, and this one on day five. And on day seven, you get a reminder to give them a phone call and then they get this on day 10.

And it just kind of delivers and works 24/7, and it enables you to keep in touch with people and these messages can be personalised and all these different fields can be put in and at one level it gets quite complicated, but the impact it has on customers can be very, very dramatic.

And you know, in our business, whilst we’re very good at what I would call the front end marketing and bringing people in, we have good marketing funnels. But so much of our income is actually made because of our follow up. It’s the use of our CRM system, I’m on record as saying many times that I would rather have my electricity cut off than lose access to my Infusionsoft system because I can go somewhere else that’s got power and log on to Infusionsoft my business can carry on. It’s way more important to me than electricity would be in this building.

But that’s not a challenge to Matt the butler to turn off the power now when we’re so close to the end of this particular event.

So web forms and CRM are going to be an integral part of any business that is close to competent at maximising conversion from their website. But they sit alongside the web forms that are integrated within the website, they collect the data from the funnels, and the follow up needs to happen afterwards.

Because just like Cyril, the squirrel here, if he’s following the nuts and you’re following the follow up with the prospects and customers that are coming along.
