If you are an Keap / Infusionsoft user then you no doubt are aware of single and double opting in your email subscribers.
Single opt-in. The advantage is that it is easier for people to sign-up and it gives you the biggest list (which makes for a happy marketer). But the downside is that you are more likely to get spam complaints, which does not make Keap / Infusionsoft happy.
Double Opt-in. The advantage is that you get better email deliverability from the Keap / Infusionsoft servers and you keep Keap / Infusionsoft happy. The downside is that it requires more work on the part of the subscriber (they have to find and click on the link in the confirmation email) and this means that many people will not confirm to your list – I have seen as high as 80% of people not confirming to opt-in.

The solution
With Keap / Infusionsoft Campaign Builder there is a simple solution that should go toward keeping the marketer, the subscriber and Keap / Infusionsoft happy.
By directly linking the “Email Confirmation Request” from the Confirmation Sequence to the next sequence, in this case Welcome Sequence” this causes the following to occur.
1 Everyone receives the Confirmation email, those that confirm by clicking the link within 15 minutes achieve goal “Confirm Email” above and proceed to the next sequence – so these people are now double opted-in – all well and good!
2 But the people who do not bother to opt-in are not lost, after 15 minutes the Goal expires and they automatically proceed to the next sequence anyway, if they later find the confirmation email and double opt-in then all well and good.
So at least this way everyone receives your campaign and those that bother to double opt-in are able to do so.
The net effect is you grow your list and you build up the percentage of your list that is double opted-in without unnecessarily sacrificing data.
