I have just finished reading this book which I took away the following points for me personally.
1. You have to create your own brand – employees should create their own brand in order to create opportunities – because traditional employment thinking is outdated in our evolving world. This is so true to my experience over the last 5 years – get out there, create your own opportunities to earn money, do not sit waiting (read hoping) for employers to present you with that exciting life changing opportunity – go out and create it!
2. Speed of response. Respond immediately (or ASAP) to social media interactions, phone enquires etc. What I find is that other consultants (competitors) do not respond quickly to email or phone enquiries. If they do ever respond to enquiries, it could be days before they get around to it. By responding promptly to enquires, ideally within minutes it really does set you apart from the crowd and put you on a good footing the win the new business .
