Don’t let Google fool you to think your site ranks high in Google search – tip on how to a void this
Want to see your site rank highly in Google? Don’t let Google fool you to make a school boy error.
Google is continually refining it’s algorithm to give each searcher a personalised result, targeted to what they want to see. So this means that Google tends to give you content that you have already viewed – it knows your history – even if you are logged out of your Google account etc.
This is great for the general web surfer, but if you are trying to gauge how your site is ranking in Google search then it is a headache and how many of us when we were “wet behind the ears” with regards to SEO were mighty impressed to find our site ranking high on Google search – all because we searched and clicked on our site on a regular basis.
I found this interesting article by Dan Nedelko with a top tip that gives as true a picture as possible with a simple tweak when you perform a search so you can really see how your site is ranking.
