HighLevel proudly introduces a new Billing Address feature for Ecommerce Stores, increasing both flexibility and compliance by allowing for separate collection of billing and shipping details.
## Key Features of the New Billing Address Feature
#### Enabling and Disabling Billing Address
An ‘Enable Billing Address’ toggle is available in the checkout settings. Upon enabling, a ‘Same as Shipping Address’ checkbox might appear under the Shipping Details section, checked by default.
#### Checkout Page Structure
Checkout pages now include a new ‘Billing Details’ section. The page is now structured as follows: Contact Details, Shipping Details, Billing Details, Notes, Shipping Options, and Payment Methods.
#### Text Customization Options
Several options exist for customizing text, including the Billing Address Headline Text, Billing Address Checkbox Text, and Billing Address Fields, such as Full Name, Phone Number, Full Address, Country, State, City, and Zip Code.
## How to Implement the New Billing Address Feature
1. Visit Store Builder and go to the Checkout Page.
2. Choose Checkout element and refer to Advanced Section in Settings.
3. Activate ‘Enable Billing Address’ under Form Options.
4. Alter headline and checkbox text in Text Options under General Settings.
5. Apply and publish modifications to start capturing billing information on your checkout page.
## Additional Information to Note
* **Order Details Page:** If activated, Billing Address details are found separately below Shipping Address in Customer Info.
* **Customer Access Center (CAS):** Billing address is reflected in the Order Details section.
* **Contacts: **Billing and Shipping Addresses for Ecommerce store users are stored together.
* **Packing Slips and Thank You Pages:** Both shipping and billing details are included.
* **Order Confirmation Email:** The email will contain the Billing address alongside other details.
## Vital Details for Store Owners
* For new stores, the billing address is turned on by default; respective custom fields are auto-created.
* For pre-existing stores, HighLevel disables billing address by default; enabling leads to auto-creation of custom fields.
* Auto-created custom fields are non-deletable or changeable. Unique keys are granted to each custom field. If any keys match current fields, the same keys are utilized.
* Any fields completed in the billing section during checkout will be reflected in later sections.
* Currently, the billing address section does not impact tax calculations.
