I have over 18 years experience in both off-line and on-line direct response marketing and in that time my marketing campaigns and initiatives have sold over £50,000,000 of products and services for clients.
Since 2009, as the Internet really took hold as the dominant medium I have concentrated on on-line direct response marketing. It was a natural transition for me to on-line marketing as all my traditional experience as a direct response marketer is still highly relevant – the psychology of direct sales is still the same, only the technology has changed. After all, what we now call an ‘e-commerce business’ today used to be called a ‘mail order business’ prior to the internet. Hence my years working in the mail order business figuring out how to build sales is an education that money cannot buy and sets me way ahead of most.
When I first started marketing and selling on-line it was clear that there had to be a way to automate the on-line marketing process. It held me back using disparate systems like Aweber or Constant Contact for emails and PayPal for orders where the resulting data could not be fully leveraged to drive sales. It is pointless having stand alone systems where email systems and order systems do not ‘talk’ to the customer data base or affiliate programme effectively. This ‘Multi System Chaos’ is what led me to Infusionsoft, the CRM and marketing automation system.
Within 6 months of adopting Infusionsoft I had generated over £500,000 in sales and an email list of over 300K. And once I had built the email list I was able to create a subscription membership site that generated over £100K revenue in the first year. All this was made possible with Infusionsoft marketing automation. After experiencing the sales generating power of Infusionsoft I was a convert and have specialised in Infusionsoft CRM and marketing automation ever since.

Online Retail / e-commere. Over the past 18 years I have been active in direct response marketing. Before the internet I was developing and managing multi million pound marketing campaigns for a catalogue company -printing and posting over 15 million catalogue packs per year and generating sales of over £20M per annum. What we used to call Mail order is now called Online Retail or Ecommerce, all that has changed is the technology, the marketing psychology is the same.
In 2009 I set up and managed an online retail operation for a client. This included bolting together a Magento shopping cart (to advertise the products and take the orders), Infusionsoft (to manage the data and marketing) and Multi Order Manager by Dydacomp (to handle the fulfillment and manage stock). The complete system that I was able to bolt together enabled me to effectively manage the entire marketing process single handedly. From generating the initial order, capturing the order online or offline with an outsourced customer service supplier, fulfilling the physical product (including drop shipping), stock management and stock reordering.
This culminated in 2010 when I mas managing the entire marketing for a client – to produce a 500,000, bi monthly printed catalogue distribution of the Poppy Direct Catalogue on behalf of the Royal British Legion. Using outsourced resources such as graphic design, catalogue printers, customer service and fulfilment I was able to ‘virtually’ manage the entire catalogue operation single handedly. This included stock management, purchasing and importation from China.
Product Launches. For clients I have successfully set up and managed product launches using Jeff Walkers Product Launch Formula methodology. Combining Infusionsoft with Product launch Formula enables to creation of evergreen product launches.
Video Marketing Automation. Video online sells, no question. But why stick with simply embedding plain YouTube videos like your competitors do. Infusionsoft can enable interactive and responsive video marketing. Affiliate Program Management. Experience of selling a range of merchandise and subscription products on-line. Affiliate Marketing. Securing and developing key strategic affiliate partnerships. Setting up and day to day management of affiliate programs for overseas and UK clients with affiliate networks such as Affiliate Window. Establishing and managing in-house affiliate management programs utilising Infusionsoft (CRM system). Developing affiliate offers, incentives and commission structures. Technically proficient in undertaking the day to day activities that are required in order sustain on-line marketing activity.Activities include developing and managing creative including: text links, banners, newsletters and HTML emails. Technically competent I can manipulate HTML and PHP code using Dreamweaver, graphic manipulation using Photoshop and content management systems (blogs), such as Word Press. Set up and managed Infusionsoft (CRM system) applications to automate on-line marketing, sales and fulfilment. Set up and managed on-line stores and on-line payment systems. Utilised services such as Google Analytics to continually improve sales conversions and cut out under performing activity. Experienced in managing Pay per Click advertising (Google AdWords) campaigns. Set up and managed ad hoc freelance teams to develop on-line projects.
Infusionsoft troubleshooter. I started out as a regular Infusionsoft user in 2009 looking to generate online sales. As many regular users do I had to overcome the steep learning curve and I stuck with it. When I started my client urgently needed sales revenue and it was my job to do that. And I achieved this in a matter of weeks and after pulling a few ‘all nighters’.
